Today’s post is sponsored by Everywhere Agency on behalf of Macy’s. As always, all opinions expressed herein are my own.
Restauranteur, author, television star, Rick Bayless has been educating American audiences about authentic regional Mexican for decades. His restaurants are destinations for Chicagoans and tourists alike. And the city is abuzz about Rick’s latest venture, Leña Brava, a West Loop eatery inspired by the multicultural seaside elements of Baja California Norte, the region’s celebration of live-fire cooking and the area’s world-class wines.
It is no surprise, then, that Rick Bayless is also a member of Macy’s Culinary Council, a group of some of the country’s best known chefs who help home cooks achieve great results in their kitchens with recipes, events, cooking tips and more. There are Culinary Council events all over the country, and I have attended many of them because it’s a great way to see my favorite celebrity chefs, like Marcus Samuelsson and Stephanie Izard, up close. I always learn so much from these culinary luminaries.
And now I am going to see Rick Bayless! As a celebration of summer, this master chef will be demoing his favorite summer recipes at the 7th Floor Culinary Studio of the iconic State Street Macy’s on Wednesday June 29 at 12 pm. Because everyone gets hungry at that time of day, there will be plenty of samples to enjoy. I cannot think of a better way to spend my lunch hour!
It is free to attend the event, but you will want to reserve your place because seating is limited. I expect that there will be a huge turnout to see Rick Bayless! What’s more: with a purchase of $35 or more in the Home department, you will receive a $10 Macy’s gift card and a copy of Chef Bayless’ cookbook More Mexican Everyday which Rick will be signing right after the event. (I don’t have that one in my collection, so look for me in line at the signing!)
