I am a member of the Everywhere Society and Everywhere has provided me with compensation for this post. However, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.
Everyone knows Marcus Samuelsson from his many television appearances and, of course, from his Harlem restaurant Red Rooster. (I have never eaten there, but my in-laws have. Lucky them!) I have long been a fan of his and very much enjoyed his memoir Yes Chef. I feel a personal connection to Chef Samuelsson because he grew up in Sweden and my maternal grandmother was Swedish.
So when I heard that Chef Samuelsson, a member of Macy’s Culinary Council, was doing a demo of his favorite spring recipes at the flagship Macy’s store on State Street in Chicago, I reserved my spot.
You see, I know that seeing Marcus Samuelsson in person does not disappoint. It would be hard to overstate how engaging, charming and downright funny he is. When I saw him at a Macy’s Culinary Council demo in 2013, he bantered with the audience, invited some people up to cook with him, answered cooking questions and even offered encouragement to the young chefs that were there.
What an amazing opportunity to learn from this master chef as he shows you how to impress your friends and family with some refreshing new dishes for spring. Having attended several Macy’s Culinary Council events, I can tell you that there is no better way to get close to your favorite celebrity chef and learn from him or her. The best part? There’ll be plenty of scrumptious samples to enjoy!
So won’t you join me on Tuesday March 8 at noon to see Chef Marcus Samuelsson at the State Street Macy’s 7th floor Culinary Studio? With any purchase of $35 or more in the Home Department, you will receive a $10 gift card and a copy of his latest book Marcus Off Duty. If you collect signed cookbooks, as I do, you will be happy to know that will be signing his book after the demo on the Lower Level. Do NOT try to get ahead of me in line!
Seating for the event is limited and on a first come, first served basis. The event is free, but you will need to RSVP by calling 1-800-329-8667. Do it today because this event will fill up quickly.
See you on March 8 at noon the flagship Macy’s store on State Street in downtown Chicago!
